How was Beach Buddy created?
Beach Buddy was created by Stacie Hill, a scuba Instructor in California.
Ms. Hill saw many people wanting to dive in beautiful locations forgo diving due to the
additional effort required for beach diving. She also saw many people that were
physically challenged, due to both long term or short term injuries, pass on some of the
most beautiful dive sites in the world. Being a videographer, there was a huge need for
the transportation of all of her dive gear in one trip. When looking at a tank, BC, fins,
mask, regulator, video housing, lights - the weight and the cumbersomeness of the
equipment made it difficult to traverse all the different terrains in one trip. Of course
looking at the cost of all of the equipment made leaving any equipment at the shore for
multiple trips not an option.
Ms. Hill fell in love with diving during her first dive in Tonga nearly 15 years ago and
wanted to have that joy available to as many divers as possible. She created Beach
Buddy so that people would not worry about transporting their gear - they could just
focus on the fun of diving.
